And I also finally made a new account. Severely uninspired lately I realised maybe my departure from deviant(sometimesgood)ART might have a little to do with it. Or not? We'll see. Anyways the username is mintred. Why? I hate the colour mint, and I'm not particularly fond of red. But. I couldn't think of anything else and the first two words that came to mind were just those. And I couldn't be bothered to think of anything else that was short enough that appealed to me. But I'm sure it will grow on me. Add me if wish to see something new, and if you also want to see some old stuff again.

Hi all!


I am going to be in Europe in January and February for about a mont. I will mostly be based in Switzerland but I'll be making a definite stop in London as well. I'm also going to make some efforts to go to Austria and possibly a few other places in England and Germany. I am also going to be back in Hong Kong next month.

The reason for this journal is I need some models for my new project. I know a fair few people in all these places but I need lots and lots of people for this project! It's an extension of my Persona piece, I've developed the idea heavily on paper over the last few weeks and now I'd like to see it come to life because I'd eventually like to get the series into a gallery within the next year. I now have a very precise idea of how it's going to turn out, especially in relation to a gallery space. It doesn't matter what you look like, male, female, old or young, I'm looking for variety, if you are in one of these places when I am, please comment or send me a note (comment preferably) and just let me know. I can't offer you money for you time but I will send you a print of your individual results if you would like

It's done but I can't find the CD I saved it to :/ It's not really a video per se either, it's made up entirely of still images from my camera (that was a project restriction) but it does look like film.


But I don't have anything there yet So don't check haha.

I have new work.

A lot of it.


A special project involving my Holga and 35mm film. Really special. It's going to take years to complete. Actually, it will never be done, but that's the beauty of it.

New cyanotopes from digital works. Limited edition of Nostalgia: Lemons and Limes were printed. I'm making them avaible for purchase in the coming weeks. Special order through me, there will only be 5 or 10 depending on whether I can make more. It's nice to put something that used to be pixels through a darkroom process. Most were exposed
and devloped onto 175 (125?) watercolour paper.

I also have some Liquid Light prints. But they suck and I'm doing that again.

I've expanded the Stranne series by a lot. I'm presenting 12 in two weeks time.

A nice little series based on my favourite book, One Hundred Years of Solitude. I got given a project that was perfect to use that book as a basis. It's a series of six images, all very different, but they way they are presented will be quite interesting.

I also have a new movie. I'll be posting up stills from it. It's very beautiful, sensual stuff. Bodyscapes. Maybe I'll Youtube it.

Plus one more new series after that.

Hmm, busy busy little bee.


And I got a new lens, Sigma 10mm-20mm. It's a beauty.

Some important and quick updates!

• You must watch Me, You and Everyone We Know and The Squid and the Whale. These are two of the best movies I have ever seen.  
• I have two important and projects in the works. One is a photojournalism project inspired by a series Ciril did (because he's brilliant and if you haven't seen his work then do yourselves a huge favour and visit his gallery and his website): it will be an ongoing project that I plan to pursue for a few years but as new images come in I will show them here and the end result will hopefully be compiled into a book. It sounds a bit ambitious to say this project will take that long but I want it to because it will evolve as the subject does.

    • I have a new deviantART account and will slowly be phasing this one out as this name hasn't represented me for a long time. My new account will also show my new work which is quite different to this one and therefore requires a new audience. I want to start fresh.

        • I am currently back home in Hong Kong! I've just realised it's the best city in the world. Film is cheap. Cheap cheap cheap. Three times cheaper than Sydney.
          
          
          • I've also been experimenting with new cameras, I tried out a Mamiya RB67 which is probably the most beautiful camera I've played with, and a Leica M4. I'm looking into getting my own Mamiya now, a friend is selling one for dirt cheap so hopefully it will still be there when I get back. I am also going on a black and white shooting spree so I have lots to develop when I get back.
            
            
            • I heart deviantART. Sometimes. No really I've missed the people here but I've been far too swamped to get on as often I would like.
              
              
              • And finally: DanLuVisiArt is the worst mexican impersonator in the world and I suspect he sleeps with a Chuck Norris action doll, eclipsic and soultown are the most emo people in the world, they drain my dark black soul dry just the way I like it, SubterfugeMalaises does the best bo-keh conga line, drink-me-pretty and mergana are the most beautiful french girls.
